Went on a double date to see a movie at the newest theater in our local area. I was impressed with the interior décor, very modern and stylish! At this theater they offer house seating and premier seating. The house seating prices are comparable, although a little more expensive, to surrounding theaters (Matinees are $7 here but mostly $5 at nearby locations). This seemed a little too much for our budget so we stuck with house seating.
Prices are average restaurant prices, a tad on the higher end. We had never been to Studio C, as we usually go to NGC in Eastwood Plaza, but decided to give it a try on a Sunday afternoon. I checked out movie times, and saw that I could reserve seats online, so I did. Regular matinee prices are $8, but premium seating is $16, and we decided that reclining seats and unobstructed views were worth the extra. Having never visited before, I chose seats in the center of the screen, but upon arrival we realized that the rows of non-premium seats would be semi-obstructive. My lovely wife had our seats changed to those on the side, which are two to a row, which provided a much better view of the screen.
Complimentary popcorn came with the seats, with free refills. The recliners are very comfortable and have tabletops that move into the chair so you can move your food closer if desired. The food is pretty tasty, but a bit pricey - think Carrabba's or Outback prices. A push of a button brings the wait staffer, who can serve you drinks or food throughout the movie.
Another bonus is the bar, which has a pretty good selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. I had Angry Orchard while my lovely wife had the house cabernet. All told it was about a $60 moviegoing experience. We will use it on special occasions - worth being pampered every now and then. My wife and I have been going here probably once a month for the last year and a half. NEVER had a problem with the movie or food.
Yes,the premiere ARE a bit pricier. You also get a lot more for your money. You also arent required to get them, there house seats are about the same price as any other movie theater.
It is comfy, private, the staff is always extremely friendly and the food is always good. Studio C is the nicest theater in the Lansing area. They have very comfortable seats and offer wait staff at the upgraded seats along either side of the theater, which is convenient, but comes at a higher price.
They have the standard movie theater snacks an fountain drinks available, but also offer full meals and alcohol as well. I dont usually recommend movies as a good date idea because you cant really talk to each other, but if you do have a movie date, Studio C is a great place to go. Mondays are my day off and I love to see a movie. I don't know that there is a better theater in the State of Michigan that I have been to them this one. It's pricey for sure, but a nice treat.
Great seats, serviceable food, excellent service. Larry Parsons, Meridian Mall manager, could not be reached for comment. Kansas City, Mo. -based AMC's decision will leave the suburban east side of Lansing without a multi-screen movie theater for the first time in years. AMC opened the six-screen theater in 1986 and closed two other complexes inside Meridian Mall starting in 2000.
Chad Wozniak, general manager of Studio C! Cinema theaters, located in six major cities in Michigan, making Studio C! Joseph, Portage/Kalamazoo, and Mount Pleasant. An average of 5.5 million customers see movies annually through Studio C's Celebration Cinemas locations. This is probably one of my fav movie theatres in the area. However, there is a student discount day .
There is a restaurant and bar that you can get food from before the movie. If you pay extra you can sit where a server can visit you throughout the movie/bring you your food. The popcorn bags are small, but free refills. You can watch movies, but you can also order good food and alcohol. The special premiere seats grant you a free popcorn, a comfier seat and waiter service. Definitely the best place to catch a movie in the Lansing area.
I would recommend ordering tickets online through Fandango or somewhere else because tickets are usually sold out an hour before popular movies begin. Okemos for making me feel safe and cared about! I had some questions about food allergies. She got her manager to bring out the entire box of popcorn oil and flavorings so I could check the ingredients. She gave us amazing service and I CAN have the popcorn!! For making this a great experience for me.
And Madison is a great example of excellent customer service and I hope she is recognized for going above and beyond. Studio C is convenient to my location, but if it werent for that, I wouldnt pick it over other theaters. I personally dont like the dinner IN the movie idea and find it very distracting.
I also dont like the pick your seat function adopted by celebration in general. I find that more people walk in very late because they know their seats are reserved. For the positives, Studio C is clean, comfortable, small for a more low key movie experience. There are never massive crowds and rarely long lines. You can get reserved seating here with advanced ticket purchase. They serve beer and wine and some specialty cocktails.
The theater is clean and well-staffed with friendly people. They also serve food besides the usual movie fare of popcorn and candy. We didnt order food so I cannot speak of how good or bad it is, the food was priced a little high but I think it is to be expected.
NCG also has theater rentals for parties and groups. Corporate events, school field trips, church groups, birthday parties, and business meetings - no matter the occasion, make your event memorable! Group activities are a perfect way to reward a team, celebrate a special day, learn and team build, or create a memory.
Whether you want group tickets for a public showing, are interested in hosting a private showtime or looking for an exciting way to fundraise,Studio C has you covered. Groups require a minimum of 15 and must be scheduled in advance for perks like discounts. For additional info or to make a reservation, contact the theater, or fill out the group form on the website. Lucy endeavors to find a job, but has no skills. A few blocks from the failed interview, she quite literally stumbles upon a Fellini film festival.
While Lucy grew up voraciously consuming films, she only ever watched sappy '50s-era Hollywood productions; this is her first taste of European art cinema. After watching La Strada on the big screen, she has an epiphany. The East Lansing Film Society Film Series started in 1998 after the only art movie theater in Greater Lansing closed.
The series is headed by the East Lansing Film Festival, a nonprofit organization which hosts an annual film festival in March. My daughter and I came to see Little Women. Movie venue, in general was best slow. Service was also slow for dead time. With the first bite of the taco something burned my daughters tongue.
She did not add any of the additional toppings. She kinda freaked out and asked me to try the tacos as well. And the same reaction happened on my tongue as well.
It felt like, what can only be described as. A shock of electricity on our tongues. I also mentioned it to the manager. The manager wanted to offer comp food. I went to the restroom, I washed my mouth out. The manager was kind In having 2 cups of water ready for me once i left the restroom.
Had my daughter want to continue to watch the movie with a sore tongue, I would've just left. We were celebrating her birthday with a mother daughter date night. I appreciate the gesture by the manager but our night was ruined by something on the food that was inexplicable. Unable to enjoy movie or even concentrate due to the uncomfortable feeling I was experiencing. When most of us head out for an evening of entertainment, dinner and a movie is always a safe bet. Studio C in Okemos has ingeniously combined the two, creating a restaurant and movie theater all in one place.
You can either eat in the restaurant area and then go in and see your movie OR you can sit in the movie theater and the wait staff brings you your food while you recline in your seat . All theaters need to model themselves after this one. It is always clean and tons of staff around to assist if needed.
The food at the bistro is insanely good if you feel like grabbing a bite to eat before/during your movie. The seats can be pricey for some but trust me, they are worth it. Plush, clean seats for 2 hours while I watch a good movie is worth a few extra bucks.
The first time my family went, we had a great experience, no complaints. The second visit was terrible and made me not want to return. My husband surprised me with a date and it was just okay.
The drink selection was mediocre at best, and one of the machines was totally down. The food we ordered was just okay, definitely not great. Honestly, for the cost of this place, Id really expect more. We can drive less far for a really cheap movie experience at Sun Theater in Williamston or drive a little further and pay a bit less at either NCG or Celebration. They also have reserved seating which offers the most comfortable, spacious leather theater seats in the area. Decent food menu with a nice selection from their full bar.
When it comes to a job, Ive never worked somewhere that was so much fun. When it comes to a movie theater, this is my favorite place. Reasonably priced drinks, great food, and only the best movies play. Had my daughter want to continue to watch the movie with a sore tongue, I wouldve just left. Celebration has a multitude of screens and theaters, including IMAX, showing the latest movies.
They are also available for booking group events and renting whole theaters. Ticket pricing may vary based on the time and day of the week, however there are discounts for college students, veterans and senior citizens. Went with friends to see a movie at Studio C. The seats were very nice. Comfortable to sit in and even reclined slightly.
The place was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Meridian Mall features about 125 stores and a food court, plus a movie theater on its periphery. C. Penney, Macy's, and Dick's Sporting Goods. Other major tenants include Bed Bath & Beyond, H&M, Launch Trampoline, Old Navy, Planet Fitness, and Schuler Books & Music. Studio C's corporate building is located in the Celebration! North theater based in Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids also hosts two other theaters as well and formerly hosted discounted theater that sells movie tickets for $5.00 per ticket at the Woodland Mall. Joseph, Lansing, Portage/Kalamazoo, Mount Pleasant, and Okemos are serviced by Celebration Cinemas as well. Wow, what a horrible experience. We went this last weekend and bought the premium seats and had a horrible experience. We were in our seats for over 30 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order anything.
Then we waited another 30 minutes before he came back and said they were out of one item I ordered. Then we wait and wait and someone hands me my substitute item and we still had not received what we initially ordered. So, of course we tell the person and a little while later here comes another person with some trays. Only this time it was not what we ordered. Finally after several tries they get it right. We were die hard Studio C people and going often since it was a great date night.
